Member Clubs are the lifeblood of the state and regional golf association.
The Metropolitan is fortunate to have 140+ member clubs who support our mission in providing the USGA GHIN Handicap Service® and other golf services to their golfers and patrons in the St. Louis, Central and Southern Illinois region.
As a Member Club of the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association, you gain access to a number of club benefits that can enhance your club's daily functions. Member Clubs can:
- ensure their golfers that the course and slope rating is accurate and up-to-date in accordance with the USGA
- have the opportunity to provide GHIN memberships for an official Handicap Index to its members
- utilize a modern tournament management system with Golf Genius to provide a positive event experience
Our member clubs consistently provide quality venues on which the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association is able to conduct Championships and USGA Qualifying rounds each season. The clubs who have graciously hosted Metropolitan Championships since our inception in 1992 are listed on the past championship archive pages.
There are THREE Club Types that can join the Association:
- Private Courses
- Public/Municipal Courses
- Club Without Real Estate - clubs/groups, facilities, and businesses that do not have a physical course but stay connected through golf and wish to provide GHIN Handicaps.
Great news! The USGA added short courses to the course rating and World Handicap System, meaning you can be a Member Club with a course rating and provide GHIN memberships too. Now, whether you are a 7,200yd 18-hole course or a 750yd 9-hole, par 3 course, you are eligible to join in the fun.
