Golfers can obtain a Handicap Index by joining a Metropolitan Member Club
Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association is comprised of clubs throughout the Metropolitan St. Louis area, Central and Southern Illinois. Golfers who join a private Metropolitan Member Club are automatically members of the association. Beyond private clubs, there are three easy ways to join area golfers who are already enjoying all the benefits of being a member. Virtually every public and municipal golf course in the area has an organized Metropolitan Club that is easy and inexpensive to join. Any member of a Metropolitan Member Club is entitled to all membership privileges.
Three Ways to Join the Metropolitan:
1. At a Member Golf Course
As an alternative to a private club, you can join through your local public golf facility. There are more than 75 member clubs that are public golf courses. These clubs are usually inexpensive and very simple to join; all you need to do is contact the golf staff at the course. For more information, visit your favorite public course or call our office for help in finding a course near you.
2. Club Without Real Estate
Do you play regularly with a group from your office, your neighborhood or your local golf league? It’s a perfect scenario for becoming a Type 2, or “club without real estate.” Organized groups who are not affiliated with a single golf facility can form their own club and join the Metropolitan. These clubs must meet the USGA definition of a golf club. But getting started is easy and the Metropolitan welcomes inquiries about forming a club without real estate. For more information, contact the office, 314-567-MAGA(6242).
3. eClub Membership
