Moore Leads 32nd Senior Amateur at Bogey Hills

The 32nd edition of the Metropolitan Senior Amateur Championship kicked off today at Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles.  95 golfers started the day across the championship and age divisions, 27 are competing for the George F. Meyer Trophy.  

John Moore, Metropolitan eClub, went out and closed a round of 72 (+1) to take the Round 1 lead into Thursday's final round.  Moore, who recently turned 50 and eligible for the senior amateur circuit is from the Quincy, IL area.  One shot back of Moore is Chad Hull, Lake Forest CC and James Storey, Glen Echo CC.  

Five players lurk 4 shots back at +5 including another newcomer to the senior scene this season, Skip Berkmeyer, The Legends CC, who is lurking behind current Senior Player of the Year leader Brian Lovett who is not playing this week at Bogey Hills.     

Age Divisions from 50 to 75 and over make up the rest of the field at Bogey Hills.  They are competing for Low Gross and Low Net honors within their divisions.  Round 2 will be played Thursday out at Bogey Hills with the championship division and leaders going off last in the afternoon.
