2011 Awards and 2012 Kickoff Celebration
MAGA Honors its 2011 Players of the Year; Fromuth Receives Meritorious Service Award
Wednesday evening at Norwood Hills Country Club MAGA awarded its 2011 Players of the Year for their exemplary play for the 2011 golf season. Award winners Skip Berkmeyer; Jeff Johnson; Ellen Port and Tina Jones were all present and accepted for their designated honors.
However, the highlight of the evening was the Meritorious Service Award that went to Carol Fromuth, who as Berkmeyer described her as the “Godmother of Junior Golf” in St. Louis for so many years. Fromuth has touched so many lives with her dedication to the junior golfers of St. Louis going back to the mid-1970s.
Fromuth joins past Meritorious Service winners Jayne Watson, Pat Will, Stan Grossman and Roger Null as recipients of the Association’s highest honor.
