2013 Amateur Championship
PERSIMMON WOODS GOLF CLUB WILL HOST 23rd CHAMPIONSHIP
The Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association is excited to announce that the 2013 Amateur Championship will be conducted August 1-3 at Persimmon Woods Golf Club. This will be the club’s second time hosting the region’s most coveted amateur title.
“Persimmon Woods is excited about hosting the 2013 Metropolitan Amateur Championship. We have always enjoyed our relationship with the MAGA and are proud to host their events. The golf course is sure to be a great test for some of the areas finest amateur players, including several who are members at Persimmon.” – Gregg Eisenberg, President and Principal Owner.
2013 will mark 10 years since Persimmon Woods hosted the Amateur. That year, current Persimmon Woods member Scott Edwards claimed the title in a playoff with Shawn Jasper. It was the inaugural year the 4-hole aggregate playoff was instituted by MAGA.
