Langley Secures PGA Tour Card For 2013
On Monday in La Quinta, CA, St. Louisan Scott Langley secured his PGA Tour card for the 2013 season. The Parkway South and University of Illinois product completed this next step on his inevitable journey he began years ago.
St. Louis has been watching this young man grow and succeed for many years now. In 2005, Langley was a member of MAGA’s Mid-America Junior Cup team (one of 4 he played on). The matches were being played at Indian Hills CC in Kansas City. Langley and his partner, Alison Micheletti, were in the final match which came down to the 18th Hole. A win would seal the Cup for St. Louis. I remember walking down the par 5 18th fairway with those two after Langley hit a perfect drive. Micheletti would hit a beautiful layup shot to the 100 yard marker, just where Scott wanted it. To me, the next shot, solidified the future expectations for this young man. Langley would hit that 100 yard wedge to a foot…game, set, match!
He went on from there to capture the 2008 and 2009 Metropolitan Open as an amateur and the 2010 Metropolitan Match Play Championship where he defeated his good friend, Skip Berkmeyer in a classic final match.
Congratulations to Scott on this next step to the PGA Tour. MAGA is very proud to have had a small role in the development and been a rung on the ladder to his success. He is a class kid and wish him all the best in 2013.
