Algonquin Golf Club Hosts US Women’s Open Qualifying

portsramtrophyThe 2013 US Women’s Open Sectional Qualifying is back in St. Louis for a second consecutive year, Algonquin Golf Club will play host to the 36-hole Qualifying Round on Thursday, May 30th.  Sixty-one ladies from around the country have chosen Algonquin in their attempt to make the field at the 2013 US Women’s Open to be held at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, NY June 27-30.

Two of those 61 will successfully move on to the Women’s Open.  Golfers from all over the country will be in St. Louis on this day, including Izzy Beisiegel from Broken Arrow, OK who qualified in 2012 at Glen Echo CC.  There are many other prominent golfers in the field, including 2012 USGA Senior Women’s Amateur Champion Ellen Port and Martha Leach from Hebron, KY who won the 2009 US Women’s Mid-Amateur title.
