UPDATE: Haas, O’Meara withdraw from Monday Sectional Qualifying
The field of 42 is set for the 2013 US Open Sectional Qualifying round on Monday June 3rd at Old Warson Country Club. The “Road to Merion” will make its way back to St. Louis and through Ladue as “Golf’s Longest Day” will be contested back in St. Louis for the first time since 2010. As of this posting, the number of qualifying spots available has not been determined.
PGA Tour players Jay Haas and Mark O’Meara have withdrawn from Sectional Qualifying. Replacing these two are two professionals, Mackenzie Hughes from Charlotte, NC and Zach Fullerton from Los Cruces, NM.
Twenty-six pros and sixteen amateurs make up the field of 42. There is some local flavor in the field as well, seven of the 42 still call St. Louis home. Justin Bardgett, Shawn Jasper and Justin Bryant are professionals now having success out on the mini-tours around the country. While amateurs Skip Berkmeyer, Joe Migdal, Alex Cusumano and Kyle Weldon are seeking that once-in-a-lifetime shot at playing in the National Open!
