Two Advance Today at Algonquin on to Women’s Open

uswomensopenlogoAlgonquin Golf Club is the host tomorrow for US Women’s Open Qualifying, where two of the 61 competing will advance to Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, NY to play in the Women’s Open June 27-30.

The 36-hole Qualifying Round will begin at 7:30am in the morning from the 1st and 10th Tees at Algonquin.  Algonquin will play to 6,102 yards par 71 for the field.

Participants from all over the midwest and country will be making the attempt to play in the Women’s Open.  Izzy Beisiegel, a pro from Canada who qualified in 2012 at Glen Echo CC is in the field and will play in the 1st group from #1 in the morning.  Martha Leach, from Hebron, KY and the 2009 US Women’s Mid-Am Champion is also in the field, she will start her day at 7:50am also from the #1 Tee.

Ellen Port was scheduled to play, but has withdrawn.  Other locals in the field include Catherine Dolan, who qualified last week for the US Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship; Gina DellaCamera, the 2010 MAGA Junior Girls Champion; and Amanda Kim, the 2012-13 MSHSAA Class 2 individual champion.

Scoring will be updated every 9 holes throughout the day and can be followed via the MAGA Scoreboard provided by Plaza Motors.  Click here to follow: US Women’s Open Qualifying
