Quincy CC will host US Senior Open Qualifying, June 24th

Quincy Country Club will play host to 44 senior hopefuls who will attempt to qualify for the 2013 US Senior Open at Omaha Country Club July 11-14. At the time of this posting the number of qualifying spots had not been determined by the USGA, check back for updates coming soon. This filed of 44 is the largest MAGA has had in the last 5 years.

Highlighting the field is Tommy Armour III, a regular on the Champions Tour from Dallas, TX and St. Louisans Trevor Dodds and Jay Delsing. Delsing recently competed in and survived the cut at the Senior PGA Championship at Bellerive CC. Also in the field are some of the areas top senior amateurs, including Jack Eisenbeis, David Johnson and Quincy CC member James Millman.

Quincy CC has been a great supporter of MAGA and its events since joining the Association as a Member Club over 10 years ago. They have played host to the MAGA Senior Championship, USGA Senior Amateur Qualifying and US Mid-Amateur Qualifying. The all bentgrass golf course is a wonderful layout and in superb condition every time we have visited.

Qualifying round will begin at 8:30am on June 24th with the final grouping going off at 10:50am. Aside from the US Open that has two stages, the US Senior Open is one of the most difficult USGA Championships to qualify in to.
