Berkmeyer Leads Way at 12th East Side Amateur
Skip Berkmeyer began Sunday 1-shot back of leader Michael Johnson, but a 2-under round of 70 would seal the deal en route to 5-under total and victory in the 12th East Side Amateur. Spencer T. Olin was a great host in welcoming 105 of the areas best, it had been since 2002 that MAGA has visited the Alton facility for a competition.
Ted Moloney settled in with 2 rounds of 71 for a solo Runner-Up finish and Chad Niezing came in 3rd with a 1-under total. Low final round went to Steven Souchek who had a 3-under 69 to catapult up to a T-5 finish.
With the victory, Berkmeyer takes a commanding lead in the early Player of the Year race. See the current standings here, 2015 Player of the Year.
