Metropolitan Cup Playoffs In Full Swing
It has been a difficult year for the Metropolitan Cup Championship, MAGA’s year long interclub matches, due to Mother Nature early on wreaking havoc on scheduling of the Regular Season matches. However, we are now into the Quarterfinal round of the playoffs.
Defending champion Joachim Golf Club squeaked into the playoffs this year via a wild card spot, they defeated Westborough CC in the Round 1 to advance to the Quarters. They are playing another wild card, The Falls GC next. Five-time Cup champion Bellerive CC and three-time champion Meadowbrook CC are into the Quarter after wins over Normandie GC and Persimmon Woods GC respectively. Meadowbrook will travel to #1 Seed Quincy CC for the Quarters.
#2 Seed Whitmoor CC, who had a bye in Round 1, will get The CC of St. Albans in the Quarters. St. Albans advanced with a victory over Aberdeen GC.
