KCGA Leads 3-1 After Day 1 of Mid-America Junior Cup

The KCGA Team pulled away in a couple matches Saturday to hold a 3-1 lead after the Four-Ball part of the 2-day competition.  Max Kreikemeier and Carson Postal was the lone MAGA side to hold on and claim a point on Saturday.

MAGA youngest team, Momo Kikuchi and Shannon Gould lost 4 holes in a row from 8-11 to find themselves in a 4 down hole.  However, the two fought back and got the match back to 1 down on 15 before falling 2&1.

The Mid-America Cup Matches were established in 1999 to bring competition and camaraderie between the KCGA and MAGA.  KCGA holds the cup after their victory in 2014 at Fox Run GC and will need just 1 point in Sunday’s Foursomes to retain the trophy.   MAGA will put the following sides up for Sunday’s matches:

Frankie Thomas/Madison DeRousse
Joe Terschluse/Abby Schroeder
Max Kreikemeier/Momo Kikuchi
Carson Postal/Shannon Gould
