Petty Medalist, Hack Earn Spots in US Women’s Open

Kasey Petty, a recent graduate of the University of Findlay, had rounds of 74-73 (+3) to earn medalist honors Tuesday at Westwood Country Club and one of two spots in the 2016 US Women’s Open Championship.  The Championship will be played July 7-10 at CordeValle in San Martin, CA.

With two qualifying spots available, the 2nd would be decided in a playoff between Anna Hack, an amateur from Lexington, KY and Ember Schuldt, a professional from Sterling, IL.  They tied at 4-over 148.  Hack would fire the only subpar round of day with a 3-under par 69 in afternoon, combined with her morning 79.

Hack would earn the 2nd spot with a par on the 3rd playoff hole.  Schuldt was 1st Alternate and Kathleen Gallagher was 2nd Alternate at 150.  Full field results can be viewed via the link below.
