Two Locals Qualify for US Junior Amateur
Ben Sayers (Wildwood, MO) outlasted a field of 54 players to earn medalist honors at Aberdeen GC and a spot in the 2016 US Junior Amateur July 18-23 at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, TN. Sayers had rounds of 73-71 to finished 2-over on the day, which ended up as a 5 stroke victory.
Michael Holtz (Godfrey, IL) was 3 shots back after the morning 18 with a 75. He would follow that up with a 74 and finish at 7-over 149 to earn the 2nd spot available on the day.
Round 1 leader Joe Terschluse (Chesterfield, MO) led after the morning 18 with a 72, but an afternoon 78 would see him finish one shot back of a qualifying spot. Terschluse would tie with Austin Vukovits (Fishers, IN) at 150. They would need one playoff hole to decide the alternate positions which Terschluse would capture the 1st Alternate.
