US Senior Hopefuls Play for One Spot Monday at St. Clair CC
Thirty-five seniors, 50 and over, will tee it up Monday at St. Clair CC in Belleville vying for one spot in the 2016 US Senior Open in August at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, OH. The Senior Open is hands down the most difficult USGA championship to get into, with 87 players of the 156 field exempt from qualifying. This leaves the remaining 69 spots to be spread out over 34 sites.
To make this a bit tougher, three Champions Tour regulars are in this field. Jay Don Blake, John Riegger and Brian Henninger have all chosen St. Clair CC as their site to attempt to qualify. They are all 3 playing this week in Wisconsin in the Champion Tour stop. Several Gateway PGA professionals are also in the field, including Mark Faulkner, JC Anderson and Nash Haxel.
Follow along all day as we will be providing hole-by-hole scoring on Monday with each group. See who is playing with who and for all scoring follow the link below.
