Benedict Medals; Locals Manning, Eckelkamp and Kirchoff Qualify for US Women’s Mid-Am
Kim Benedict came from Bonita Springs, FL in hopes of securing a spot in the 2016 US Women’s Mid-Amateur September 10-15 at The Kahkwa Club in Eric, PA. She accomplished that by firing the only subpar round on the day, a 2-under 70 to earn medalist honors.
The other 3 qualifying spots would go to locals Margaret Manning, Kayla Eckelkamp and Kelli Kirchoff. Manning was 2nd on the day with a 1-over par 73, she has been playing in several events this summer along with the guys in the Imperial Amateur Series and at the Normandie Amateur. Eckelkamp has had productive summer, capturing the MWGA Mid-Amateur Championship earlier. Kirchoff is coming off a great win in the STLWDGA Championship.
