Eisenbeis Leads After Long, Damp Day at WingHaven
There was nothing favorable about the conditions Monday in Round 1 of the 24th Senior Amateur Championship. Play finally began in the afternoon with an unfavorable forecast; however, play completed and Jack Eisenbeis was on top with the only subpar round of the day at 1-under 71. One back of Eisenbeis is David Johnson at Even par 72. Joining Eisenbeis and Johnson in the final grouping Tuesday will be WingHaven member Didier Villard who finished at 75 on the day. Villard is tied with Jim Holtgrieve. Defending champion Andy Fogarty is 8 shots back after a 79.
