“Road to Erin Hills” Begins A Week from Today for 75 Hopefuls

USGA_TextOnly_LogoThe year’s second major championship, the U.S. Open begins this week with Local Qualifying kicking off around the country.  Over 9,000 entries were accepted by the USGA this year, the 5th highest total in history.  The U.S. Open will be conducted June 15-18 at Erin Hills in Erin, WI.  

Seventy-five (75) of those 9,000+ have chosen The Legends Country Club in Eureka for their first leg of the “Road to Erin Hills.”  The U.S. Open conducts qualifying in two stages, Local and Sectional.  Four (4) hopefuls will leave The Legends a week from today, May 8, and move on to one of ten (10) Sectional sites around the country June 5.

The Robert Trent Jones layout will play to 6,980 yards, Par 71 in identifying the four qualifiers.  The Legends has hosted several USGA qualifiers in recent years, including U.S. Senior Open and U.S. Amateur.  Starting times will begin at 7:30a and run through 11:54a.  Groupings and Starting Times and scoring updates during the rounds will be provided and can be found at the link below.
