Eckelkamp Captures First MAGA Title, Wins East Side by 6
Ryan Eckelkamp (Franklin County CC) has played in many MAGA championships the last few years; however, he found himself in a new position Sunday when he teed it up in the final grouping on Sunday. Eckelkamp shared the lead with Alex Cusumano (Norwood Hills CC) after Round 1 at 3-under (69). The wind picked up on Sunday afternoon and, for many, made scoring conditions much tougher. Eckelkamp had it dialed in and would top his opening 69 with a 4-under 68 to finished at 137, 6 shots clear of Ryan Sullivan (Tapawingo National GC) and Parker Goldman (Meadowbrook CC).
On the Senior side, Andy Frost (Bellerive CC) and Jeff Johnson (Bogey Hills CC) would tie for low honors at 155.
