The Country Club of St. Albans to Host 2018 Amateur Championship
The Country Club of St. Albans has long been a leader of perpetuating championship golf in this region, the 1st Member Club of MAGA back in 1992 they would then host the 3rd Amateur Championship in 1994. Since then, they took on the Metropolitan Open Championship beginning in 2006 and have played host to every Open until now.
MAGA is excited to announce the regions premier amateur championship will make its way back to St. Albans 25 years later as the 28th playing of the Amateur will be conducted on the Lewis & Clark Course at St. Albans. “St. Albans and MAGA have been very close over the last 12 years growing the Open to where it is today, to bring our flagship championship, the Amateur back in 2018 is a huge commitment and testament to the club.” said Executive Director Curt Rohe. The Open will also be conducted at St. Albans in 2018.
The dates of the 2018 Amateur will be August 2-4.
