KCGA Leads 3-1 After Day 1 of Mid-America Junior Cup

Playing at Shadow Glen Golf Club in Olathe, KS Saturday, the Kansas City Golf Association earned a 3-1 advantage over MAGA in the 2017 Mid-America Junior Cup Matches.  The 19th edition of the Mid-America Junior Cup began Saturday with Four-Ball Match Play.

MAGA would earn its lone point on the day with a 1-up victory from the team of Max Kreikemeier and Tommy Alferman, the last two MAGA Junior Champions.  This was probably the match of the day as neither side ever lead by one more than 1up the entire match.  Kreikemeier and Alferman shot a Best-Ball 5-under 67 while Ryan Bender and Garrett Clark fired a 3-under 69, both very impressive scores.

MAGA needs 3 1/2 points on Sunday in Foursomes (Boy/Girl vs. Boy/Girl) to bring the cup back to St. Louis.  For all of the scores from Saturday Four-Ball and Sunday’s pairings click on the link below.
