2018 USGA Championship Qualifying Schedule

St. Louis, MO – The Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association will conduct on behalf of the United States Golf Association ten (10) qualifying rounds in 2018.  The USGA will conduct fourteen (14) national championships in 2018 with the addition of the U.S. Senior Women’s Open in July.

Leading off in 2018, Old Warson Country Club will host the Local stage of U.S. Open qualifying on Monday May 7.  This is 18 holes of competition where players advance on to the Sectional stage of qualifying.  The U.S. Open is the only USGA championship that requires two stages of qualifying.  The U.S. Open will be played at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, NY June 14-17.

In June, MAGA will conduct qualifying for both the U.S. Junior and U.S. Girls’ Junior Amateur at St. Clair Country Club in Belleville, IL.  These will both be played on Monday June 25 and each consist of 18 holes of competition.  The U.S. Junior Amateur will be at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ July 16-21 while the Girls’ Junior will be at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, CA the same week.

Westwood Country Club will host U.S. Amateur qualifying July 23 and 24.  U.S. Amateur is a 36-hole qualifier that MAGA conducts over two days, where many U.S. Amateur qualifiers are played in one day around the country.  Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, CA will host the championship August 13-19.

August is a particularly busy month with three qualifiers in the area this month.  For the first time ever, MAGA will bring a USGA qualifier to one of our 9-hole facilities in 2018.  Ballwin Golf Club will host the U.S. Senior Amateur qualifier on Monday August 6.  Competitors will play 18 holes playing the 9 hole track twice.  The U.S. Senior Amateur will be played at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, OR August 25-30.

Lake Forest Country Club will host the U.S. Mid-Amateur qualifier on Monday August 13 for the 25 and older crowd.  Qualifiers from this round will advance to Charlotte Country Club in Charlotte, NC September 22-27.  The 2018 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur is right here in our backyard marking the third consecutive year a USGA championship has been hosted in St. Louis.  Norwood Hills Country Club will host the 2018 championship and add to its USGA history having hosted the 2001 U.S. Senior Amateur.  Qualifying for Norwood Hills will be at St. Louis Country Club on August 20.

The U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur qualifier will be played at Franklin County Country Club in Washington, MO on September 10 with qualifiers advancing to Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club in Orchid, FL October 6-11.

Lastly, the 2019 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball and U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball qualifiers will venture south to Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau and both be played on September 19.  The 2019 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball will be conducted at Bandon Dunes Golf Club in Bandon, OR May 25-29 and the Women’s at Timuquana Country Club in Jacksonville, FL April 27-May 1.
