Sunset Country Club Set to Host 26th Women’s Amateur
The 26th Metropolitan Women’s Amateur will visit Sunset Country Club this week where 17 ladies will look to bring home the Jayne M. Watson Trophy. McKenna Montgomery surprised many last year at Sunset Hills CC in Edwardsville and came away with the title. Montgomery is in the field to defend this week. Also back in the field is 16-time champion Ellen Port and 2017 Metropolitan Women’s Player of the Year Kathy Glennon.
The Jayne M. Watson Championship Division will be played over an approximate 5,900 yard layout at Sunset beginning Wednesday June 20th.
In the Net Championship Division, 18 other ladies will compete in 2 flights for Low Net honors. Round 1 will take place Wednesday June 20th and conclude on Thursday.
