Otter Opens 26th Women’s Amateur with 74 to Lead Round 1

Logan Otter (Whitmoor CC) and recent graduate of Michigan State University fired a 2-over par 74 Wednesday to lead the 26th Metropolitan Women’s Amateur Championship at Sunset Country Club.  Otter has a one shot advantage over 3 others, including defending 2017 Women’s Champion McKenna Montgomery.  Also at 75 were Shawn Rennegarbe and Katie Keuss.

16-time Women’s Amateur Champion Ellen Port finished the day at 79, 5 shots back of Otter.  Otter will play in the final grouping Thursday and go off at 9:40a.

In the Net Divisions, Debra McGinnis leads Flight a with a 73 and Alicia Anderson had a net 75 to set the early lead.

Round 2 will be played Thursday, again with the leaders of the Jayne M. Watson Championship Division going off at 9:40a.  For all of Round 1 results and Starting Times for Round 2, click here.
