Lopez Fires 4-Under 68 for Medalist in U.S. Girls’ Junior Qualifying

Cory Lopez, from Mexico, fired a brilliant 4-under par 68 Monday at St. Clair Country Club to earn medalist honors at the 2018 U.S. Girls’ Junior Amateur Championship Qualifying.  Her scorecard included 1 Eagle, 3 Birdies and a Bogey for the 68.

Three shots back of Lopez were Ashely Shim, from San Mateo, CA, and Kaylee Sakoda, from Cypress, CA at 1-under par 71 to earn the final two qualifying places.  the 2018 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship will take place July 16-21 at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Monterey, CA.

Filling out the Alternate spots were Makenzie Niblitt, from Austin, TX with 1st Alternate and Sadie Englemann, from Austin, TX, 2nd Alternate.  For all of Monday’s scores please visit the website by clicking here.
