Wendling, Floyd Share Lead at 19th Junior Championship
Steven Wendling (Westborough CC) and Max Floyd (Forest Hills CC) share the lead after Round 1 of the 19th Junior Championship in the James M. Holtgrieve Championship Division. The leaders each shot 2-over (74) on the Forest Hills CC layout.
One shot back of the leaders is Zach Walsh (Forest Hills CC) and Ray Winter (Sunset CC) at 75. The final grouping of Walsh, Wendling and Floyd will go at 9:20a on Tuesday.
In the 14-15 Age Division, Kal Kolar (Gateway PGA Junior GC) holds a 2-shot lead with a 4-over 76 Monday. Trailing him Grant Vineyard (Old Hickory GC) and Thomas Bourke (Forest Hills CC).
In the Barbara A. Berkmeyer Girls Championship, Sarah Lewis (Persimmon Woods GC) has a 1-shot advantage over Momo Kikuchi (The Quarry at Crystal Springs). Lewis fired an 81 in the first round.
Rounding out the Age Division, Luke McLaughlin (Bellerive CC) leads the 12-13 year old with an 87 on Day 1.
