Pranger Medalist; Allen and Migdal Advance to U.S. Mid-Amateur

Drew Pranger’s strong 2018 campaign continued Monday at Lake Forest Country Club where he fired the lone subpar round at 71 (1-under) to earn a second consecutive trip to the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship.  Pranger will travel to Charlotte Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. September 22-27 for the championship.

Joining Pranger from Lake Forest will be locals Sam Migdal and Buddy Allen.  Migdal, MAGA 2-time reigning Player of the Year, Allen and Derek Meinhart (from Mattoon, IL) would earn the final 3 spots in a playoff after rounds of Even par 72.  Also at Even par was Chad Niezing, who would be 1st Alternate after battling Allen for 4 holes in the playoff.

Allen, MAGA’s Senior Player of the Year, had also put together a very solid 2018.  With this qualifier, Pranger re-takes the Player of the Year race from Berkmeyer by 175 points heading into the final stretch of the fall schedule.
