Team MAGA Set to Compete in 2018 Mid-America Junior Cup
The 2018 version of the Mid-America Junior Cup will mark the 20th anniversary of the collaborative event between MAGA and the Kansas City Golf Association (KCGA). MAGA will host this year and play at Bogey Hills Country Club October 20-21. MAGA holds a slim lead in the overall series 9-7-3, but the cup has remained in possession with the KCGA since 2013.
The Mid-America Junior Cup was formed in 1999, the brainchild behind the cup was Ned Rychel of the KCGA. His vision to bring the two associations from each side of the state together has blossomed into one of the truly great events on our calendars each season. On the 20th anniversary of this event, Singles matches will be added to the schedule of play. Up until now, the Cup was decided by eight (8) matches, 4 Four-Ball on Saturday and 4 Foursomes on Sunday.
Saturday will feature Four-Ball Matches in the morning and Foursomes in the afternoon. The teams will come back on Sunday morning to compete in singles matches, doubling the number of points now up for grabs in the Mid-America Junior Cup.
Team MAGA will feature the following lineup:
Zach Walsh (Chaminade College Prep)
Max Kreikemeier (Lafayette HS)
Hunter Niles (Timberland HS)
Kal Kolar (Maplewood-Richmond Heights HS)
Brooke Biermann (Lafayette HS)
Claire Solovic (Seckman HS)
Momo Kikuchi (Pattonville HS)
Nicole Rallo (St. Joseph’s Academy)
LIVE scoring of the matches will be available all weekend October 20-21 in what should be an exciting weekend of play with the addition of a whole new element of Singles Matches.
