10th Season of Amateur Series Set for 2019

St. Louis, MO – The Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association is set to enter into the 10th season of the Amateur Series in 2019.  The Amateur Series provides golfers of all ages and abilities access to compete on a level playing field.  Player choose from several Divisions to play within based on their age and whether they want to play in a gross (Open) or net (handicap) competition.  The Amateur Series will once again have Imperial Headwear as the presenting sponsor of this program.

MAGA has put together another quality lineup of venues for the Amateur Series.  WingHaven Country Club will kick off the 2019 season hosting the season opener on April 29th.  The O’Fallon, MO private facility has been a favorite to kick off the year over the last several seasons.

A new venue for 2019, Woods Fort Golf Course in Troy, MO will host May 13th.  Woods Fort was recently listed as a Top 25 golf course in the country based on value by Golf Advisor.  In June the Series will visit another new venue, Links at Dardenne in O’Fallon.  Dardenne will host the third event of the season on June 14th.

MAGA returns to the Florissant Golf Club on July 19th.  A real treat for the Amateur Series participants will be in August when they visit Lake Forest Country Club out in Lake St. Louis, MO.  This will be another new venue for the Series.  The Series will end the regular season at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, IL on September 13th.

The final new venue for 2019 will the Championship venue.  Tapawingo National Golf Club will host the season-ending championship October 5-6.

There will be a lot of exciting new changes for the 2019 season to go along with the new Rules of Golf which took effect January 1st.  Registration for the 2019 Amateur Series events will open on March 1st.  Click here for more information on the Amateur Series.
