MAGA Unveils New Tournament Operations Trailer
After a great kickoff to the 2019 tournament season with the Old Warson Cup over the weekend and U.S. Open First Stage Qualifying Monday, MAGA was thrilled to put into service our new Tournament Operations trailer. MAGA was one of, if not, the first AGA back in 1997-98 to invest in a tournament trailer for their events. At the time, it was for the most part to be used as the tournament office. When conducting events at our Member Clubs, MAGA operates out of the trailer and takes up no room in the host clubhouse. The goal is to be as least intrusive as possible while we are guests at these facilities.
However, over the last 20+ years MAGA continued to add equipment to its operations to where we are solely self-sustaining and do not rely on the club for virtually anything needed to conduct an event. Therefore, the trailer began taking on more and more to where the functionality was not efficient while also sustaining our ability to stay out of the clubhouse space. This past winter, MAGA went to work on replacing the original trailer.
The new operations trailer has two separated areas, the office space toward the front and storage space in the back with each having its own door to access. Both spaces were fully customized to fit all of our needs and custom built by Executive Director Curt Rohe’s brother. “Nick (brother) did an amazing job on the trailer! We took our time to think through what equipment we had and needed and customized the space so everything has a place,” stated Rohe. “We will be able to operate with tremendous efficiency having the office and storage areas separated.”
While the outside is not quite complete, MAGA will be adding branding to the outside in the very future. This trailer is the new standard in tournament operations for a AGA.
