Sullivan Leads; Hatley and Callahan Right Behind Going to Sunday at Normandie

Ryan Sullivan was the lone golfer to break the par barrier Saturday at Normandie Golf Club in Round 1 of the 33rd Normandie Amateur.  Sullivan battled tough winds and slick putting greens to post a 1-under par score of 70 to take the lead into Sunday’s Final Round.

One back at Even par is Matt Hatley.  Hatley just completed his Junior season at McKendree University in Illinois.  Then right back of Hatley is the early season’s hottest golfer, Crimson Callahan.  Callahan posted 1-over 72 after his recent win in the Old Warson Cup and advancing to the Sectional Stage of U.S. Open Championship qualifying.  These three will play in the final group on Sunday.

In the Senior Division, Tom Portner from Green Hills Golf Course in Mt. Vernon, IL leads the way after opening with a 76 on Saturday.  One back of Portner is Dan Kelley.
