Szcesniak Takes Normandie Amateur in Playoff; Portner Wins Senior Title

Kyle Szcesniak from Forest Hills CC, started Sunday 5 shots back of Round 1 leader Ryan Sullivan in the 33rd Normandie Amateur.  Szcesniak would fire the low round of the day, a 1-over 72 which included a chip-in birdie on the always tough 250 yard finishing Par 3 18th, to move himself into a tie for the lead.  Sullivan, a couple groups back and had the only subpar round of the weekend to lead after Round 1, would finish with a 77 on the day.

The two would head to #1 to playoff for the title.  Szcesniak would get up and down for par from left of the putting green while Sullivan made a bogey and the title would go to Szcesniak.  Crimson Callahan would finish solo 3rd for the weekend to extend his early season lead in the 2019 Player of the Year points race.

In the new Senior Division, Tom Portner (pictured below) of Green Hills Golf Course in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, would fire rounds of 76-75 to earn the low Senior title.  Dan Kelly of Meadowbrook CC was four shots back in 2nd.
