McCracken Pulls Out Open Victory With Final Round 64!
The day started with an extremely tight leaderboard, 7 shots separated first and the cut line. Logan McCracken (Oklahoma City, OK) was in the group at 5-under to start Friday’s final round. After a bogey on the par 5 2nd, Logan birdied 3 thru 6 to get back into contention. Meanwhile, co-leader Ryan Sullivan birdied the first 3 holes of the day to get to double digits 10-under and looked to get early control of the championship. Never looking back, McCracken would not make another bogey the rest of the day. He would fire a 31 on the back which included 3 consecutive birdies coming in and post the 12-under winning total.
Ian Snyman (Denton, TX) would finish runner-up to McCracken with a final round 66 to follow up his rounds of 69-67. He birdied the last hole to finish one back of McCracken at 11-under.
There was a 3-way tie at 3rd at 7-under for the week. Stephen Kupcho (Westminster, CO), Ryan Sullivan (Winston Salem, NC) and Nathan Yankovich (Blacklick, OH) would make up the trio. Kupcho is the brother of Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion Jennifer Kupcho and Ryan Sullivan will from St. Albans to Pebble Beach next week to compete in the U.S. Open.
Reilly Ahearn would fire a 74 on Friday to cap his championship at Even par 213. Ahearn was the lone amateur to survive the cut. For all of the results click on the following links:
