Quincy Country Club Set to Host U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifying
17 Girls’; 35 Boy’s Will Play for Spots at U.S. Junior Championships
Quincy Country Club has seen its fare share of rain this spring, like most golf courses in the St. Louis region. Including 8″ since this past Tuesday, but driving around the Quincy, IL gem you would hardly know it. The golf course is, as always, primed to host another USGA qualifying round for the USGA and MAGA!
As in recent years, MAGA will conduct both U.S. Junior and Girls’ Junior Amateur Qualifying at Quincy CC Tuesday on the same day. Seventeen young ladies from around the region vie for one of two (2) qualifying spots into the 2019 U.S. Girls’ Junior Amateur. The Girls’ Junior will take place July 22-27 at SentryWorld in Stevens Point, WI.
On the Boy’s side, thirty-five hopefuls will contend for just one (1) spot at the championship. In 2020, this will all change as the field size of the U.S. Junior will expand to 264 players giving more opportunity to juniors to compete for a USGA title. This year the championship will be conducted July 15-20 at Inverness Club in Toledo, OH.
The Girls’ will play first in the morning beginning at 8:00am and then the Boy’s will start with the 9:06am starting time. Click on the link below for all of Tuesday’s Groupings and to follow the scoring throughout the day.
