Allen, O’Neill Lead Senior Amateur With Rounds of 71
101 Seniors Tee It Up at Annbriar in 27th Senior
Defending champion Buddy Allen and Mike O’Neill fired 1-under rounds of 71 to lead the 27th Senior Amateur Championship. Allen, coming off his victory last week in the STLDGA Cassett Senior Championship, commented after the round that he made some bad mistakes but was ready to go tomorrow to defend his title. Lurking one shot back of these two is 2009 and ’11 Senior Amateur champion Scott Edwards at Even par.
All of Monday’s scores from the championship round 1 can be found at the link below. Several golfers in varying Age Divisions had to endure a one hour rain delay late on Monday to finish.
Round 2 will start at 7:30a, the championship division playing for the George F. Meyer Trophy will play late morning with the lead group of Allen, Oneill and Edwards going off at the end of the day. Round 2 Starting Times can be found as well at the following link.
