Locals Qualify for 2021 US Amateur Four-Ball Championships
2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Qualifying Results
MAGA had the opportunity Monday to provide a positive outlook heading to 2021 for several amateurs in the area. 2021 U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Qualifying was conducted at Crown Pointe Golf Club in Farmington, MO. Forty-six Men’s Sides and 9 Women’s Sides competed for spots in their respective championships next spring.
In Women’s qualifying, Brooke Biermann and Julia Misemer survived a 3-way playoff to earn the one qualifying spot. Biermann/Misemer finished the day at 3-under par to tie the sides of Ellen Port/Lara Tennant and Drew Nienhaus/Nicole Rallo. Biermann/Misemer would make par on the 2nd playoff hole to secure the spot. The other sides went on to complete 5 playoff holes to decided alternate places with Port/Tennant securing the 1st Alternate. The 2021 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship will be played at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, TX.
In Men’s Qualifying, the side of Tony Gumper & Ryan Eckelkamp shot an 8-under round of 63 to earn medalist honors and a trip to Chambers Bay next spring for the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball. One shot back at -7 was Michael Noe & Trent Alexander (picture right) from Alabama earning the 2nd qualifying spot. A 3-way tie at -6 would playoff for the alternate places. Blair Web & Mac Fiely from Indiana would earn the 1st Alternate, while brothers Sam and Joe Migdal secure the 2nd Alternate.
