MAGA to Conduct U.S. Women’s Open Qualifier at Old Hickory

St. Peters, MO – Qualifying season is here and MAGA is excited to conduct U.S. Women’s Open qualifying this week at Old Hickory Golf Club in St. Peters.

The 52-player field will tee it up for 36 holes this Wednesday, April 28th,for a chance to earn a spot in the field at the 76th U.S. Women’s Open, which will be played June 3-6 at The Olympic Club in San Francisco.

This will be the first time since 2017 that MAGA and the Saint Louis area will have a U.S. Women’s Open qualifier.

There are some familiar names in the field Saint Louis area golf fans will recognize, starting with LPGA pro Emma Talley. The four-time All-American at Alabama scored the winning point for the United States at the 2014 Curtis played at Saint Louis Country Club.

Joining Talley in the field is fellow LPGA pro Mariah Stackhouse. A four-time All-American at Stanford, Stackhouse also played on the victorious 2014 Curtis Cup team and has played on tour since her rookie year in 2017.

Auston Kim will make her way to Saint Louis after competing in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur earlier this month. The junior at Vanderbilt qualified for the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open at the Country Club of Charleston and advanced to the first round of match play in the U.S. Women’s Amateur later that year at Old Waverly Golf Club.

Local golf powerhouse St. Joseph’s Academy will have three of their stars in the field. Sisters Nicole and Mia Rallo join Drew Nienhaus in trying for a spot in the field at The Olympic Club. The Angels have won five straight State Championships. Neinhaus is a Penn State commit, while Nicole Rallo is staying in state to play at the University of Central Missouri. Mia, a junior, tied for third overall in the Angels’ last state championship.

The rest of the field consists of three LPGA members, three Symetra Tour members, and 28 student-athletes who are currently playing at the collegiate level. Oklahoma State and Kentucky are the most represented teams, with three players coming from each school to the qualifier.

First round will start at 7:15 a.m. CT on Wednesday, April 28th, with continuous play for 36 holes. Live scoring will be available throughout the day at METGA.org or on the USGA Tournament Management/Golf Genius app using GGID AJSXCF. Spectators are allowed.
