New Name and Presenting Sponsor for the Metropolitan Open Championship
Saint Louis, MO – The Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association announced today a partnership with World Wide Technology, a market-leading $13.4 billion technology solutions provider with its global headquarters in St. Louis.
Dell Technologies will serve as the presenting sponsor of the Open Championship, which will be named the 16th World Wide Technology Metropolitan Open Championship.
In addition to being the presenting sponsor, WWT and Dell Technologies will receive marketing exposure through social media and website material surrounding the championship, as well as entries into the Metropolitan Pro-Am.
“We are excited to welcome World Wide Technology as a partner in conducting the Open Championship,” said Curt Rohe, MAGA Executive Director. “WWT’s commitment will allow us to run an incredible championship this year. We will be able to enhance our offerings tied to the championship, including a guaranteed $25,000 first place prize.”
World Wide Technology is heavily involved in the sports scene in the Saint Louis area, including World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, and World Wide Technology Raceway across the river in Madison, Illinois.
“WWT is pleased to sponsor the Metropolitan Open. Golf has been an early and beneficial outlet to the challenging isolation of Covid19,” said Matt Horner, Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales, WWT. “This year’s Metropolitan Open allows our community to enjoy this entertaining outlet as we safely move into the new normal. In addition, we are enthused that the leadership of the Metropolitan Open is leading an initiative to transform Normandie Golf Course to be an attractive golfing and learning venue for a diverse and underserved community which is in alignment with WWT’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiatives.”
The 16th World Wide Technology Metropolitan Open Championship presented by Dell Technologies is set for June 17-19 at Lake Forest Country Club.
The championship will kick off Wednesday, June 16, with a Pro-Am event.
The field will consist of professionals from across the country and the top amateurs from the region.
The winner of the Metropolitan Open Championship will take home $25,000.
