Welcoming the 2025 Boatwright Interns
Taitt Borucki - Operations
Taitt is a junior studying Sports Business Management at Maryville University and will be joining us for six months as an Operations Intern. Growing up in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, he has always enjoyed playing golf and baseball with his friends. When he is not at school or has free time, Taitt enjoys golfing, working out, and hunting. Like many of us, he also thinks that Tiger Woods is the G.O.A.T. When discussing the position, Taitt said, “I am ready to get started and continue spreading the great game of golf to the St. Louis Metro.”
Gabby Dethrow-Estrada - Operations
Gabby is a Southern Illinoisan from Sparta, currently studying at the Rawlings Sport Business Management school as a junior at Maryville University. She first fell in love with golf at her hometown club of Sparta Country Club. Gabby is both a golfer and competitive swimmer. She has coached the Sparta Stingrays and YOSI Seals and is a certified Open Water Diver with a goal to dive with the sharks. She loves golf because it constantly challenges her physically and mentally, yet when hitting a good shot it is all worthwhile. Gabby will be with us for three months this summer as an Operations Intern and had this to say about the opportunity, “I am excited to join the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association as a P.J Boatwright intern and learn all the in's and out's of the golf industry from an amazing team.”
Drew Soetaert - Communications
Drew is an area local, who is a junior at Ole Miss University majoring in Marketing. Drew has never known a day without golf as his father was a golf professional at Annbriar Golf Course when he was young. His first golf memory was playing 3 holes and catching fish one afternoon at Annbriar with his dad. Drew is a member at The Legends Country Club and in high school, played two years of varsity golf for Lutheran South High School. Over the years, he has worked at Annbriar Golf Course, The Club at Castle Bluff, and the Ole Miss Golf Course, gaining experience in different areas of golf. He is a golf guy, having already played in seven states - Missouri, Illinois, Mississippi, Arizona, Florida, South Carolina, and Hawaii - and his favorite thing is teeing off on hole with a beautiful view. “I am excited for the opportunity to combine my skills in marketing and communications with my passion for golf. I look forward to being a part of the MAGA team and am grateful for this incredible opportunity!” said Drew about his summer internship. Drew will be with us for three months as the Communications Intern.
P.J. Boatwright Internship Program
The P.J. Boatwright Internship Program was established in 1991 by the USGA with the goal to give experience to individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in golf administration. Interns will help local golf associations to conduct tournaments, junior golf programs, membership services, and other general activities to promote the best interest of golf.
